I samband med Internationella blodgivardagen publiceras ny statistik f\u00f6r blodgivningen i Sverige. Den visar att antalet som anm\u00e4lde sig som blodgivare under 2023 sj\u00f6nk med 14 procent j\u00e4mf\u00f6rt med \u00e5ret innan. Sverige \u00e4r sj\u00e4lvf\u00f6rs\u00f6rjande p\u00e5 blod men antalet blodgivare beh\u00f6ver f\u00f6rdubblas f\u00f6r att st\u00e4rka beredskapen.<\/p>\n

-I en krissituation \u00e4r det viktigt att vi kan kalla in blodgivare snabbt. F\u00f6r att kunna g\u00f6ra det beh\u00f6ver vi blodgivare som \u00e4r redo att ge blod, s\u00e4ger Ulrika Ljung, ordf\u00f6rande i GeBlod Kommunikation.<\/p>\n

N\u00e4rmare 60 procent av det blod som gavs 2023 kom fr\u00e5n blodgivare som \u00e4r 45 \u00e5r eller \u00e4ldre. \u00c5ldersgruppen 18 \u2013 44 \u00e5r stod f\u00f6r endast omkring 40 procent av blodet.<\/p>\n

-Vi beh\u00f6ver n\u00e5 de unga, framf\u00f6r allt m\u00e4nnen, som ger blod i l\u00e4gre utstr\u00e4ckning \u00e4n unga kvinnor. Ett initiativ \u00e4r R\u00e4dda liv p\u00e5 arbetstid, d\u00e4r arbetsgivare underl\u00e4ttar f\u00f6r medarbetarna att ge blod. Ofta \u00e4r det inte viljan som saknas, utan det \u00e4r brist p\u00e5 tid och att det faller i gl\u00f6mska. En p\u00e5minnelse kan beh\u00f6vas, s\u00e4ger Ulrika Ljung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Under 2023 fick 102 461 patienter blod i svensk sjukv\u00e5rd. Mest blod, omkring 45 procent, anv\u00e4nds till patienter med cancer och kroniska sjukdomar. N\u00e4stan lika mycket till planerad kirurgi. Knappt 10 procent anv\u00e4nds inom intensivv\u00e5rden.<\/p>\n
